Why do we need a booster?
The ability to offer compressed air at various pressures adds to its versatility as an energy medium. Certain applications require special solutions to obtain most economical results. Such an application is the requirement for a separate supply of air at higher pressure than the standard shop air for processes such as PET bottle production. In these cases it is more economical to take the existing shop air and use a small local compressor to boost it to the higher pressure at the point where it is required rather than lift the pressure of the whole air network. Regulating the pressure of a high-pressure network to supply the majority of low-pressure consumers is just blowing away money.
